Help
Plain answers, before you open the app.
Everything here describes the app as it is today. If a question is missing, the Features page has the full list of what it does.
The short version
- Where it runs
- In any modern browser. On iPhone it installs from Safari and opens like an app.
- Who can join
- Sign-up is not open yet. The family that built it uses it today.
- What it costs
- Nothing is charged today. The prices shown are placeholders.
- Your data
- Yours. Export everything as PDF, CSV or JSON at any time.
Getting in
Accounts, phones and installing.
- Can I sign up?
- Not yet. Beckaby is used every day by the family that built it, and this site is the first step toward opening it up. When sign-up opens, this page will say how.
- Which phones does it work on?
- Any phone or computer with a modern browser. It is designed for iPhone first: every control is sized for a thumb, and the whole day fits on one screen without scrolling.
- How do I install it on iPhone?
- Open the app in Safari, tap the Share button, then tap Add to Home Screen. It opens full-screen with its own icon, like any other app.
- And on Android?
- Open it in Chrome, open the browser menu, then tap Add to Home screen.
- Do both parents need their own account?
- Yes. Two parent accounts share one record. What one of you logs appears on the other phone without a refresh, and either of you can stop a timer the other started.
- Does a sitter or grandparent need an account?
- No. You make a link that lasts 4, 12 or 24 hours. They open it in their browser, say who they are, read the emergency information, and log as they go. How a sitter link works.
Using it
Logging, saving and the numbers.
- What happens if a save fails?
- The error is shown and your entry stays on screen. Tap Save again when the connection is back. A second tap never makes a duplicate.
- Does it work offline?
- No. It needs a connection to save. Your typed entry waits on screen until it can, so nothing is lost while you wait.
- Do I have to use the timers?
- No. Most parents type the minutes once a feed or nap is over. The live timer is there for sleep, breastfeeding and tummy time when you want it.
- Which timezone and units does it use?
- Your baby's timezone, set once in Settings › Baby, so the day starts at the same midnight on both phones and in every report. Weight, length and temperature use the units you choose there.
- Will it tell me if something is normal?
- No. It shows what was recorded and the arithmetic on it: totals, gaps between feeds, charts. It makes no predictions and gives no verdicts. Beckaby is not a medical device.
- Can I fix a mistake?
- Yes. Open the entry in the Log to change its time or details, delete it, or bring a deleted entry back. The record keeps what was entered and when.
Money and data
What it costs, and what is yours.
- Is Beckaby free?
- Nothing is charged today. The Monthly and Yearly prices on the Features page are placeholders and are not in effect. Whatever the price becomes, export and backup stay free and complete.
- Who can see our record?
- Only the family's parent accounts, and that is enforced by the database itself, not by the app's screens. A sitter or clinician link shows a limited view until it ends. The full description.
- Can I get my data out?
- Yes, at any time. A date range as PDF or CSV for an appointment, or everything ever logged as one JSON file, deleted entries included. The files need no app to read.
- Is there advertising or tracking?
- No. No ads, no ad SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no AI training on a baby's records. This website keeps one value in your browser: your Day, Night or Auto choice.
