Our story
A record kept by two parents, for their own newborn.
Beckaby began as a private tool on two phones. It has a name now; the reasons for it have not changed.
Why it exists
To remember what happened, and see the shape of the days.
Logging with one hand at odd hours. Handing over to each other in the morning, and to the people who helped in the afternoon. Arriving at an appointment with a clear picture of the week instead of a guess.
We wanted a record that reported what happened without grading anyone, that both of us could see at the same moment, and that stayed ours. So we built one, and it ran on our own two phones before it had a name.
What we decided not to do
The app knows what was recorded. It does not know what happened.
- No verdicts. No green badge, no score, no reassurance. A number is shown with its unit and the time it was entered, and that is all.
- No predictions. The app never says when the next feed is due or whether a baby is behind. It shows the gaps that have already happened.
- No clinical interpretation. It does not say what is normal. It is not a medical device, and every report says so.
- No engagement mechanics. No streaks, no badges, no notifications designed to bring you back. Tired people are reading.
- No advertising and no data brokering. The record belongs to the family. How that is enforced.
The name and the mark
One continuous line.
The mark is a single stroke that loops back on itself: little moments joined into one line that carries on to tomorrow. Warm white and charcoal by day; deep burgundy and light text at night. The type is Jost, set plainly, because the wordmark never needs to shout.
Little moments. A brighter tomorrow.
Today
Used by the family that built it.
Beckaby is a private family deployment, engineered as if it were not. This site is where that changes, when it does. Until then, the pricing page shows placeholders and says so.
